Adi Shankara · attributed hymn · Chapter 1 / 3

A traditional attribution, clearly named

Subrahmanya Bhujangam is traditionally associated with Adi Shankara. The devotional reference consulted also connects its composition with Tiruchendur. This profile preserves both associations as tradition, rather than treating the attribution as a historical conclusion established by this research.
That distinction does not prevent the hymn from being read with care. Its language of praise, its address to Subrahmanya and the images it uses can be explored directly. Questions about authorship, date and later composition legends belong alongside that reading, with suitable scholarly sources.
